Activists and human rights groups have relaunched an international campaign calling for the release of Palestinian prisoner Marwan Barghouti, who has been held in Israeli jails for 23 years.
Barghouti, 66, a member of Fatah’s central committee, was arrested in 2002 and convicted of murder and attempted murder, serving five life sentences. The campaign has been revived with simultaneous events in London, his hometown of Kobar in the occupied West Bank, and other locations worldwide.
