Eight Arab and Islamic countries — including Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey — expressed deep concern over the Israeli occupation’s announcement that it intends to operate the Rafah Crossing in a one-way direction that allows Gaza residents to exit toward Egypt only.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers warned that the move could be used as a mechanism to forcibly push Palestinians out of the Strip, affirming their rejection of any arrangements that could lead to population displacement.
The Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories had announced the opening of the crossing for outward movement only, coordinated with Egypt and supervised by a European mission — a step the statement described as a violation of the ceasefire understandings.
