France records weakest natural population balance since World War Two

France is facing a delicate demographic phase, recording its weakest natural population balance between births and deaths since the end of World War Two, Le Point magazine reported.

Citing a recent study by the National Institute for Demographic Studies, the magazine said the gap between births and deaths in 2024 amounted to just 0.2 additional births per 1,000 people, pointing to an unprecedented slowdown in the country’s population dynamics.
