Syrian officials and representatives of the Israeli occupation are holding a new round of talks in Paris on Monday, under pressure from the US administration, after a two-month pause in negotiations.
Axios reported that the meeting aims to reach a security agreement to stabilize the border situation and could pave the way for a future normalization track.
The mediation is led by US President Donald Trump’s envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, with the participation of Syrian transitional government Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, amid deep disagreements over disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from southern Syria.
