Two human rights organizations from the United States and Israel announced on Thursday that Israel has caused systematic harm to the health of women and newborns in Gaza since the start of its war on the territory on October 8, 2023.

The findings were detailed in two separate but simultaneous reports by “Physicians for Human Rights” in the US and Israel, documenting the war’s impact on the health of women, children, and newborns in Gaza.

The reports highlighted a significant rise in maternal and newborn mortality, an increase in births under dangerous conditions, and the deliberate destruction of health services dedicated to women in the territory.
