Trump Says He Issued Strict Orders to “Wipe Out Iran” If Assassination Threats Are Carried Out

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, that he had issued “very strict orders” for the United States to wipe Iran off the map if Tehran attempted to carry out threats to assassinate him.

Trump made the remarks in an exclusive interview with the program “Katie Pavlich Tonight” on NewsNation, marking the second anniversary of his inauguration.

He stated that Washington would respond to Iran “in its entirety” should any such threats be executed, telling host Katie Pavlich: “Whatever happens, the whole country would be blown up… I would strike them very hard, without question, but I have extremely strict instructions.”

Trump also criticized former President Joe Biden, accusing him of failing to respond forcefully enough to Iranian threats during his time in office.
