Fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) who were released from Al-Aqtan Prison in Raqqa, Syrian Jazira, arrived in Ain al-Arab (Kobani) in northeastern Aleppo on Friday, a security source confirmed to Al Jazeera. This marks the third day of the ongoing ceasefire.
The Syrian security source said that army units escorted the SDF fighters to the Serin area near Ain al-Arab as part of security arrangements during their transfer.
The Syrian state news agency SANA reported that the Ministry of Interior confirmed it has taken over management of Al-Aqtan Prison in Raqqa province, previously under SDF control, following the handover process.
