U.S. Judge to Hear Epstein Victims’ Bid to Remove Names from Released Files

A U.S. judge is set to hear a petition on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2026, filed by several victims of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein seeking to have their names removed from millions of documents and images recently released by the Justice Department, the New York Times reported.

Lawyers representing the victims said in a letter to the court that the lives of about 100 victims had been “severely affected” by the disclosures, warning of further harm if their identities remain public.

The newspaper said U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi told the court in a letter on Monday that the Justice Department had worked throughout the weekend to “remove thousands of documents and media materials that may have inadvertently included information identifying victims.”

The move follows the Justice Department’s release on Friday of a new batch of Epstein-related files, which it said was in response to demands by President Donald Trump’s administration for full transparency in the case.

Victims’ lawyers also asked the court to appoint an independent monitor to oversee future document releases, according to the New York Times.
