The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said on Monday that the death toll since the start of the war in October 2023 had risen to 72,072, with 171,749 people wounded.
In its daily statistical statement, the ministry said hospitals in the enclave had received “one martyr and eight new injuries” over the past 24 hours, without specifying the circumstances.
Despite a ceasefire in effect since Oct. 10, the ministry said Israeli violations involving shelling and gunfire had continued, resulting in casualties.
It added that since Oct. 11, Israeli ceasefire violations had resulted in around 615 deaths and 1,651 injuries.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on the figures.
