Two people were killed and three others wounded on Saturday in airstrikes that targeted the Jurf al-Nasr area in Babil province, central Iraq.
The Iraqi News Agency, citing the Joint Operations Command, reported that the area was hit by several airstrikes, though the party responsible was not identified.
The incident coincided with escalating regional tensions following what was described as a U.S. attack in support of Israeli operations against Iran, and Tehran’s retaliatory missile and drone strikes.
