The Israeli occupation launched airstrikes on the towns of Saksakiyeh, Bnaafoul, and Al-Sawaneh in southern Lebanon, alongside an announcement by its army of the start of a ground incursion aimed at establishing what it described as a “security zone.”
It confirmed the deployment of its forces at strategic points inside southern Lebanon.
The move follows a previous withdrawal in November 2024 while maintaining positions on five border hills, reflecting a shift toward expanding its presence under the pretext of protecting northern settlements.
