U.S. Transfers Missile Defense Systems from South Korea to the Middle East

The United States has begun transferring components of its missile defense systems from South Korea and the Indo-Pacific region to the Middle East as a precaution against possible escalation from Iran.

The move includes relocating elements of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) along with Patriot Missile System interceptors to strengthen regional defenses.

South Korea confirmed the transfer would not affect its deterrence capabilities against North Korea.
