Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said the country currently faces no issues in securing energy supplies thanks to its diversified sources.
Bayraktar made the remarks to Turkish journalists on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Nuclear Energy Summit held in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris, with participation from about 40 countries.
The minister said he held bilateral meetings during the summit with International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi, as well as officials from Italy, Serbia, and other countries.
He noted that holding a summit on nuclear energy at a time when global attention is focused on oil and gas prices and supply security is particularly important.
Bayraktar stressed that diversifying energy sources and strengthening international cooperation are key elements in ensuring energy security.
