Egypt on Monday condemned Israeli strikes targeting bridges and infrastructure in Lebanon, warning against the risks of a potential ground invasion.
In a statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said Israel is escalating its military operations against Lebanon, accusing it of deliberately targeting vital civilian infrastructure, including bridges connecting different regions.
The statement described the attacks as a “flagrant violation of Lebanese sovereignty” and a serious breach of international law and the UN Charter.
The condemnation comes as Israel continues to strike bridges over the Litani River in southern Lebanon, in what appears to be an effort to isolate areas south of the river, amid growing discussions of a possible ground incursion to establish a “buffer zone.”
