Large-scale protests took place across multiple US cities on Saturday against President Donald Trump, opposing his policies on issues ranging from immigration and civil liberties to the war in the Middle East.

The organizing group “No Kings” said at least 8 million people participated in demonstrations held at more than 3,300 locations across all 50 states, calling it a record turnout. US authorities have not released official figures.

According to organizers, the protests—held for the third time this year—saw an increase of about 1 million participants and 600 additional demonstrations compared to those in October.

Several celebrities joined the protests, including Bruce Springsteen and Robert De Niro, voicing opposition to Trump’s policies, particularly on immigration.
