U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order threatening to impose tariffs of up to 100% on certain patented medicines if companies fail to reach pricing agreements with the U.S. administration.
The decision grants a negotiation period ranging from 120 to 180 days, with exemptions for companies that relocate production to the United States.
It also includes gradual tariffs starting at 20% on non-compliant companies, aiming to reduce drug prices and boost domestic manufacturing.
