Hebrew media reported on Saturday morning that material damage was caused to several homes and vehicles in the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona בעקבות a rocket fired from Lebanon.
Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the rocket explosion in a newly developed residential neighborhood caused damage to a road, as well as to nearby homes and vehicles.
The newspaper added that firefighting and rescue teams that arrived at the scene dealt with a damaged gas cylinder and conducted checks for possible gas leaks.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 13 reported that warning sirens were not activated prior to the rocket’s impact, raising concerns about the early warning system.
For its part, the Walla news website said the Israeli military has launched an investigation into the incident, including the failure of the sirens to sound. Fire crews continue to operate at the impact site, with no injuries reported.
