U.S. authorities charged eight individuals with conspiracy to commit murder and providing material support to a terrorist organization in connection with an alleged plot targeting a mixed martial arts event at the White House.

According to the Department of Justice, the suspects planned to use drones and snipers to target President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, several senior officials, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and businessman Elon Musk.

Authorities said the plot was thwarted days before the planned attack.
