Oman’s Maritime Security Centre announced Tuesday that three tankers were targeted in separate incidents off the coasts of Musandam and South Al Sharqiyah governorates.

According to preliminary figures, six people were injured, and three crew members remain missing.

The centre confirmed that all crew members from two of the vessels had been evacuated, while three sailors aboard the tanker Al Bahiyah are still unaccounted for.

The authority did not identify those responsible or specify the nature of the attacks, which occurred amid heightened military tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman.
