Dbeibah Accuses Electricity Company Management of Failure and Corruption After Widespread Outage

Libya’s Government of National Unity Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah accused the management of the General Electricity Company of failure and corruption following a widespread power outage that affected most parts of the country.

His remarks came after several major power stations went offline, causing the national grid to lose around 1,350 megawatts of capacity.

Dbeibah called for an investigation into those responsible and demanded accountability, stressing that his government would not accept the continued deterioration of the electricity sector despite the substantial investments made in recent years.
