The United States announced on Friday that it will permanently remove the floating pier off the coast of the Gaza Strip.
White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told a news conference that the pier would be completely removed because it was no longer needed to deliver aid to Gaza.
The final decision will be announced by the US Central Command (CENTCOM), he said.
The pier was damaged by high winds and waves on 25 May, more than a week after it was commissioned, and was removed for repairs.
It was reinstalled on 7 June and used for about a week before being removed again due to bad weather.
