Algeria’s National Electoral Commission has accepted the candidacies of three candidates for the presidential elections scheduled for 7 September: Abdelali Hassani Cherfi, Youssef Ochich and incumbent President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Abdelali Hassani Charfi, head of the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP), Youssef Ochich and Abdelmadjid Tebboune are the candidates whose candidacy files were accepted by the commission after they fulfilled the conditions of candidacy, according to the head of the National Elections Commission, Mohamed Charfi, noting that the commission accepted three candidates after they fulfilled the conditions of candidacy.
The commission had accepted three candidates and rejected 13 out of the 16 people who submitted their candidacies on Thursday.
The accepted candidates have been informed of these decisions to prepare for the electoral campaign, and those whose files were rejected can appeal to the Constitutional Court.
