The family confirmed that he is being held in complete isolation, without being allowed to communicate with his lawyer or family, which raises their concerns for his physical and psychological safety.

The family explained that Abdulrahman Al-Qaradawi does not face any criminal charges in the UAE, and despite more than 8 days of his detention, he has not been brought before the Public Prosecution or investigated according to legal procedures. The family considered this blatant violation of local and international laws to increase their concerns about the conditions of his detention.

At the end of their statement, the family called on the Emirati authorities to immediately allow Al-Qaradawi to communicate with his lawyer and family, and to guarantee his legal rights. They also called on human rights organizations to intervene urgently to ensure his safety and work on his safe return to his family.
