The United Arab Emirates successfully completed a mediation between the Russian Federation and Ukraine on Wednesday to exchange 50 prisoners, with 25 prisoners from each side involved in the swap.

According to the Emirati news agency (WAM), the total number of prisoners exchanged between the two countries has reached 2,583. In this context, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its gratitude to Russia and Ukraine for their cooperation in the success of this mediation.

The ministry also confirmed that the UAE will continue to support diplomatic efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine and alleviate its humanitarian impacts, including issues related to prisoners and refugees.
