Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a 100-year partnership agreement on Thursday in Kyiv, aimed at strengthening military and security cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the Baltic Sea, Black Sea, and Sea of Azov.
After the signing, Starmer told reporters, “We have signed a historic agreement, the first of its kind, which is a new partnership between the UK and Ukraine reflecting the immense bond between our countries.”
In another development, the Ukrainian military announced the capture of 27 Russian soldiers in the Kursk region, which has been under its control since August, during recent battles in the area.
