The United States has allocated $117 million to support the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, following a meeting of international donors.
The U.S. Department of State explained that these funds will contribute to strengthening Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The State Department also organized an online meeting with partners and allies to discuss the essential security assistance needed to implement the ceasefire with Israel.
It is worth noting that the ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect on November 27, with a committee, including UNIFIL forces, overseeing its implementation.
In this context, Lebanese President Michel Aoun has called on Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon by January 26, in accordance with the terms of the ceasefire.
