At least 29 people have died in a cholera outbreak in some parts of Angola.
The Angola News Agency reports that authorities have so far recorded 29 deaths from cholera in several cities, including the capital Luanda.
According to daily statistics from the Angolan Ministry of Health, 41 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people infected to 576.
It is worth noting that the municipality of Cacuaco, on the outskirts of Luanda, Angola’s capital city with a population of more than 1.2 million, is the epicentre of the outbreak, which was declared by the health authorities at the end of December last year.
