Police and state media reported that Somali security forces have captured a senior ISIS commander during a weeks-long offensive against the group.

According to the state news agency SONNA, Abdirahman Shirwac Aw-Saciid, head of the group’s assassination squad, surrendered to authorities on Monday in the Cal Miskaad mountains of northeastern Puntland.
