France delivers Mirage 2000 fighter to Ukraine

French Army Minister Sébastien Locorno announced today (Thursday) that his country has delivered the first Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets to Ukraine to help it defend its airspace against Russia, AFP reported.

Today, after many months dedicated to the defence of Ukraine’s airspace against Russia,” Locorno said on the X platform: ‘Today, after several months of training Ukrainian pilots in France, the first aircraft arrived in Ukraine.

For his part, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that ‘the Ukrainian air fleet continues to develop and the first French Mirage 2000s have arrived, strengthening our air defence capabilities’.
Six of the French Air Force’s 26 Mirage fighters will be transferred to Ukraine, according to the French budget report to the National Assembly.
