A powerful explosion rocked the Shahr-e-Naw commercial district in central Kabul on Monday, killing seven people and injuring more than ten others, according to the Italian NGO Emergency.
Officials said the blast targeted a hotel located in an area that hosts embassies and commercial centers, explaining the presence of foreigners at the site.
Reports indicated that Chinese nationals were among those seriously injured.
The incident comes amid growing Chinese economic presence since the Taliban returned to power in 2021.
