Hamas announced the death of Raed Saad, a commander in the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, following an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle west of Gaza City, in what it described as a new violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya said Saad was killed alongside fellow fighters, praising his historic role in building the movement’s military wing.
Saad was considered one of the most prominent Al-Qassam leaders since the Second Intifada and had survived several previous Israeli assassination attempts.
