The Alaska summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin ended Friday without any agreement to end the war in Ukraine, despite describing the talks as “productive.”

Putin offered to freeze combat lines in southern areas in exchange for Ukraine withdrawing from Donetsk, noting he could freeze other fronts if his conditions were met, granting Moscow full control and threatening continued conflict in the east.
