Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the creation of a new ministerial position for combating corruption and the appointment of the chatbot ‘Dila’ to fill it.
‘Dila,’ powered by artificial intelligence, is the first virtual member of the Albanian cabinet, and its primary task will be to review all government tenders and contracts to ensure their integrity.
‘Dila’ began its work earlier this year as a digital assistant for citizens on the government services platform.
This step comes as part of Albania’s efforts to combat rampant corruption, a key requirement in its bid to join the European Union.
