Algeria announced that parliamentary elections will be held on July 2, 2026, following a presidential decree signed by Abdelmadjid Tebboune calling voters to the polls.
The elections will take place under a new electoral law granting the Ministry of Interior logistical powers previously held by the independent election authority.
The revision of electoral rolls is set to begin in mid-April, amid constitutional reforms and prior criticism of the supervisory body’s performance during the 2024 elections.
