Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Thursday dismissed Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui from his post and appointed Saifi Ghrib as interim head of government, according to a statement from the presidency.
The decree signed by Tebboune formally ended Larbaoui’s tenure as prime minister and named Ghrib to assume the role in an acting capacity.
Larbaoui, a lawyer, diplomat, and seasoned politician, had served as prime minister since November 11, 2023, after previously holding the position of chief of staff at the presidency from March of the same year.
