Ali Shath, head of the National Committee for Gaza’s Administration, announced the official launch of the transitional body following its first meeting in Cairo.

He said the formation is based on a UN mandate and the U.S. 20-point peace plan, and includes 15 independent Palestinian figures selected for professionalism.

Shath stated that the committee will oversee relief efforts, service improvements, and infrastructure reconstruction over the next two years, prioritizing women, children, and patients.

He thanked Egypt for hosting and supporting the effort, calling the move a historic step toward restoring unified Palestinian decision-making.
