Angola extended its dominance in African basketball by clinching a record 12th FIBA AfroBasket title on Sunday, defeating Mali 70-43 in the final at Kilamba Arena in Luanda.

The victory marks Angola’s first championship since 2013, ending a decade-long wait after missing out on the last two editions, which were won by Tunisia in 2017 and 2021.

With this triumph, Angola remains the most successful team in the tournament’s history, while Senegal and Egypt share second place on the all-time winners’ list with five titles each.
