Syria: Arrest Campaign Targets 300 Military Personnel in One Week

The new authorities in Syria have carried out a widespread arrest campaign against remnants of Bashar al-Assad’s militias, targeting around 300 individuals, including military personnel, militants, and informants in the regions of Deir ez-Zor, Damascus, Latakia, Homs, and Hama.

The campaign resulted in the confiscation of weapons and ammunition.

It also involved disarming civilians, while those involved in crimes were arrested. The campaign did not target prominent figures, except for the former head of the military judiciary.
