Arab Outrage Over Netanyahu’s “Greater Israel” Remarks as Egypt Demands Clarification

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent comments referring to Israel’s “historic right to its greater land” have sparked widespread condemnation across the Arab world, with several Arab states calling the remarks a blatant violation of international law and a direct blow to the foundations of the peace process.

Egypt’s Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that it had summoned the Israeli ambassador in Cairo to request “urgent clarifications” over Netanyahu’s statements, stressing that “any attempts to alter the legal or geographic status of the occupied Palestinian territories are completely unacceptable.”

The Arab League also issued a statement condemning the remarks as “dangerous expansionist rhetoric that threatens regional security and stability,” urging the international community to “fulfill its responsibilities in safeguarding Palestinian rights.”

Netanyahu’s remarks come just days ahead of a planned visit by a U.S. delegation to the region aimed at exploring ways to revive Palestinian–Israeli peace talks, raising concerns about their potential impact on upcoming diplomatic efforts.
