At least 36 Palestinians were martyred in renewed airstrikes by the Israeli occupation on several areas across the Gaza Strip since dawn Sunday, according to the Palestinian news agency.
The strikes targeted Al-Zawaida, Al-Nuseirat, and Jabalia, while the occupation army announced the death of two soldiers in clashes in Rafah.
Despite the escalation, the army declared on Sunday evening the resumption of the ceasefire implementation in Gaza.
Hamas denied any involvement in recent incidents, reaffirming its full commitment to the truce.
Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the closure of all border crossings with Gaza and suspended aid entry, citing alleged Hamas violations of the Rafah ceasefire.
A U.S. official said Washington intensified diplomatic efforts to prevent the collapse of the Gaza truce and urged the Israeli occupation to “respond proportionally and exercise restraint.”
Meanwhile, the head of Egypt’s State Information Service stated that “Netanyahu does not want to move to the second phase of the Gaza agreement.”
