At least 64 people were killed in central and eastern Mexico after massive floods and landslides isolated more than 300 local communities, authorities said.
Thousands of soldiers and emergency workers were deployed to reopen roads and reach affected areas, while dozens remain missing.
President Claudia Sheinbaum said the government’s top priority is delivering aid and restoring access, as heavy rains—caused by the convergence of two tropical storms—continue to batter the country, severely damaging infrastructure.
