At Least 75 Killed in Drone Strike on Mosque at Darfur Displacement Camp

At least 75 people were killed on Friday when a drone strike hit a mosque inside Abu Shouk displacement camp near the city of El Fasher in North Darfur, according to the camp’s emergency committee.

The relief group said the attack involved a “suicide drone” that struck the mosque as displaced residents gathered for prayers, causing the building to collapse and trapping worshippers inside. Bodies were later recovered from the rubble.

The strike comes amid escalating violence in Darfur, where months of fierce fighting between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has left thousands dead and forced hundreds of thousands more from their homes.
