The Italian Football Federation announced on Friday that Silvio Baldini will take charge of the national team for two upcoming friendlies in June against Luxembourg and Greece.
In an official statement, the federation said Baldini, currently head coach of Italy’s U21 team, will lead the senior squad with the support of his coaching staff during the matches.
The 67-year-old replaces Gennaro Gattuso, who stepped down after failing to qualify Italy for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Italy is scheduled to face Luxembourg on June 3, followed by a second friendly against Greece four days later at the Pankritio Stadium in Heraklion, Crete.
