At least 19 people were killed and 164 others injured, most of them students, after a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed into the Milestone College building in the Uttara area of Dhaka on Monday, local media reported.

The fatal crash occurred shortly after the aircraft took off on a routine training mission, according to a statement from the Air Force’s Directorate of Public Relations.

Eyewitnesses described a loud explosion and flames engulfing parts of the school building, which was full of students at the time. Emergency teams rushed to the scene and began rescue operations amid scenes of chaos and devastation.
