An explosion targeted a Jewish synagogue early Monday in the city of Liège in eastern Belgium, causing material damage but no reported injuries.
The blast shattered the windows of the building and several nearby structures on Rue Léon Frédéric. Counterterrorism units have launched an investigation into the incident.
The synagogue, built in 1899, also houses a museum documenting the history of the Jewish community in the city.
