The Brazilian national basketball team captured the FIBA AmeriCup crown after defeating Argentina 55-47 in the final held in Managua, Nicaragua.

Brazil avenged their narrow loss to Argentina in the 2022 final (73-75) and lifted the trophy for the first time since 2009, marking their fifth title overall and closing in on the United States’ record of seven championships.

The Brazilian squad finished the tournament with only one loss in the group stage against a U.S. reserve team, before exacting revenge in the semifinals with a 92-77 victory over the Americans.
