Brazil’s Supreme Court ruled Thursday against placing former President Jair Bolsonaro in pre-trial detention but issued a stern warning: he will face immediate arrest if he violates the social media publication ban imposed last week.

Justice Alexandre de Moraes stated that using the social media accounts of Bolsonaro’s son for political messaging constitutes a clear violation, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Bolsonaro, 70, is currently on trial for allegedly attempting a coup, and the court has restricted his ability to post content directly or indirectly amid suspicions he is trying to obstruct justice.
