Sudan’s army chief and head of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, announced Monday a new General Staff leadership for the armed forces, marking the first reshuffle since the conflict with the Rapid Support Forces began.

The changes included dismissals and promotions of senior officers.

Burhan stressed that all auxiliary forces must fall under army law, reflecting an effort to restructure the military amid the ongoing war.
