CAF ends speculation: Morocco to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe confirmed that Morocco will host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as scheduled, dismissing rumors about relocating the tournament due to internal circumstances.

“Morocco is Plan A, B, and C,” Motsepe said in Kinshasa, praising the Moroccan government and people for their commitment to ensuring the tournament’s success.

The 35th edition of AFCON will be held from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, featuring 24 national teams across six Moroccan cities: Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Fez, Marrakesh, and Agadir.
