The African Football Confederation (CAF) opened an official investigation into incidents that occurred during the Algeria vs. Nigeria and Morocco vs. Cameroon quarterfinal matches of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
CAF said it received reports and video evidence suggesting potential misconduct by players and officials, referring the case to the disciplinary committee.
The probe also covers an incident in the mixed zone involving media personnel.
The Algeria-Nigeria match saw intense protests over a denied penalty, leading referees to leave the field under security protection, amid minor scuffles between players.
